Ethics & editorial policy

Baby products are YMYL (Your Money Your Life) content. Safety errors can hurt children. Here is how we keep money from influencing safety.

Our safety promise

• We will never recommend a product with an active CPSC recall.
• We will never recommend a product that does not meet its category's safety standard (FMVSS 213, ASTM F833/F2236, 16 CFR 1500/1219/1203, etc.).
• We will never publish a medical claim without citing a clinical source.
• Affiliate revenue does not influence which products we recommend or which we mark Skip.

How we keep money separate from safety

Our editorial team is structurally separate from our partnership team. The credentialed reviewer scores the product. The partnership team handles affiliate links after scoring is complete. A reviewer cannot see affiliate-payout information.

Sponsorship policy

We accept no sponsorship of editorial content. Manufacturers may not pay to be reviewed, pay for favorable scores, pay for prominent placement, or pay for inclusion in a "best of" guide.

Sample products

We purchase most products at retail. When a manufacturer sends a sample, we disclose this in the review's "Why you should trust this review" section. Sample products are returned, donated to family shelters, or kept for long-term testing. Manufacturers receive no editorial control.

Corrections policy

When we make an error, we correct it. Material corrections (verdict changes, safety advisories) appear at the top of the review with a date. Minor corrections (typos, link fixes) are made silently.

Author independence

Each review is written by ONE credentialed author whose expertise matches the product category. Authors are not assigned to write outside their expertise. A pediatric nurse will not review a stroller; a CPST will. A lactation consultant will not review toys; an OTR/L will.

Recall response

When CPSC announces a recall on a product we have reviewed, we update the review within 24 hours with a recall banner and CPSC link. Reviews of recalled products are not deleted; they are clearly marked.
