Maneuverability and size
The tandem layout places the two children front to back, keeping the stroller close to single-stroller width. During five months of testing we pushed it through narrow shop aisles, public toilet doorways, and tight supermarket checkouts without the sideways shuffle that side-by-side doubles require. Two honest points here. First, the rear bench seat has very limited recline compared with the front position, and the older child’s forward view is partially blocked by the front seat back. On a journey of 20 minutes or less this is a non-issue for most children. On a longer outing some older toddlers in our group grew restless. If your older child still naps in the stroller regularly, this layout is not ideal.
Second, the standing platform is genuinely useful for an older toddler with steady balance who wants to step on and off at will. It is not suitable for a baby or a young toddler still developing their balance. The standing position has no harness by design; the child holds the rear handlebar. Confirm your child meets Joovy’s minimum age and weight requirements for the rear position before use.
